Miami in July of 1998 was an attempt to live a dolce vita, failed.

Artistically it was significant in that it saw the first break with tradition--on purpose. The plane of the paper is now slanted 'sideways,' and the colour scheme reflects the buoyancy of the area, as well as the need for buoyancy...

These works represent a reflection of several erranea, including the sensation of art deco juxtaposed on tropical indolence, or bright colours joyfully imposed on despairing economic slaves.

Miami is a wonderful city, and much of that wonderment comes through in the detail and freeform lines, including those 'wiggly' lines, that expostulate the virtue of joy and freedom.Sunshine must be one of the artists main inspirations...
